Mountain Run 9
May 8-11, 2023
MR9 was attended by 50 participants in 34 Corvettes divided into five groups who drove some of the most scenic and challenging roads on the east coast. Departing from Blowing Rock, NC the groups took the Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville, including the Diamondback 226 near Little Switzerland. One of the highlights experienced on this route was driving through the clouds near Mt. Mitchell. Other favorites included the Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, Wayah Road and many, many more. Perhaps the most memorable experience was hanging out by the river each evening, making new friends and visiting with others. Recognition for longest distance traveled went to Chuck & Bonnie, who drove their C8 from Oregon and Matt & Katje, who flew from Germany and borrowed a ZO6 for MR9. The weather was great and many agreed that MR9 will be long remembered as one of the best mountain runs.
